Lamb Of God will be dropping a new EP on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Records, and there's a pretty gut-wrenching story behind it.

Lamb Of God are in the country right now for their tour with Slipknot, which wraps up tonight in Melbourne, but in recent LOG news that won't cost you an arm and a leg, the band will drop a new EP on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The EP is titled 'The Duke' and is named after and written in honor of the band's late friend and long time fan, Wayne Ford, who was named after John Wayne, who also went by the name of "The Duke". Ford was diagnosed with Leukemia a few years ago and sadly passed away in February 2015, at the age of 34, while the band was working on their last album, 'VII: Sturm und Drang'.

Elaborating on the band dedicating the title track (which was originally called 'Immortalis') to the fan, vocalist Randy Blythe said in a recent interview that:

"A little while ago I became friends with a fan named Wayne Ford - he was terminal - leukemia. I talked with him often, even video chatted him into the studio. He was very calm about his impending death, and we discussed it very openly. I learned a lot from him. This song is for him."

As for a more detailed and in-depth run-down of the story written by Blythe himself, head here to the band's website. In conjunction with this new release, LOG is putting their money where their mouths and are also offering up a bunch of signed merch, instruments, and other items to help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

One other important issue that the vocalist brings up is the greater need for more bone marrow donators, as it is far more specific than blood. With matches being so specific, there is often not enough donors to go around for those that need it. Now, as for the Aussies reading this that are between 18 and 45 years of old, and if you're interested in donating, head on over to ABMDR website and see if you're eligible to register to donate.

On a far less grim topic of discussion, you can find the track listing for the EP below, as well as the title track for your streaming pleasures.
