Later this month, Slipknot and Lamb Of God will be touring the Australian East Coast and it seems that the cat has been let out of the bag early on who the local support will be.
If a supposed fuck up from Ticketek is to be believed, it seems that Byron Bay outfit and UNFD staple act, In Hearts Wake, will be the local support for this four-date tour (the first of which goes down in Auckland, New Zealand). Or at the very least, the metalcore group will be the opening support for the Melbourne leg of the tour at Rod Laver Arena.
You can find the screenshot of this leak below, which was anonymously sent into fellow Australian music website, I Probably Hate Your Band, over the weekend.
Now, back on September 28th, In Hearts Wake made a post via Facebook, saying that there was “Decent sized news, coming soon“. I don’t know about you, but I would classify opening for Slipknot and Lamb Of God as being “decent sized news”.
Honestly, In Hearts Wake is a bit of an odd choice to support a tour package like this, but I suppose that with Live Nation promoting this tour, a UNFD band may have always been a prime pick for it all along. I would’ve gone with either Sydonia or King Parrot, personally. Nonetheless, I’m sure that this will be good exposure for the group outside of their usual market…even if there is the high chance that they’ll be booed and have things thrown at them.
If you’d like to confirm this for yourself, just follow this link and see for yourself, that is until it gets edited or officially confirmed. Someone at Ticketek Australia is going to be getting a harsh talking to about this leak, that’s for sure. Again, neither the bands or the tour promoters have officially confirmed anything yet, but I’d say that this is pretty legit and not just Ticketek having us all on.
Update: 11:30am – Yep, In Hearts Wake have just confirmed that they’re opening up the Australian dates of the tour.
Finally, I must say that Outer Doors and Inner Doors are also solid picks for supports. I love ‘Waiting In Line For Hours‘ and ‘Fuck, When Will The First Band Start?‘ respectively.
What remains of the ticket reserves for this tour are on sale now, and you can find the tour dates below.
Wednesday, October 26th – Vector Arena, Auckland
Friday, October 28th – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
Saturday, October 29th – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney
Monday, October 31st – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Lamb of God is also playing two headline shows at the HQ Complex in Adelaide on November 1st, and at the Metropolis in Fremantle on November 3rd. Tickets for either of those shows here.
