As Brand New continue to send their die-hard fans through an emotional roller coaster, the band have announced that their highly-touted final album will be delayed.

Well, so much for a 2016 release, aye?

Addressing their fan base recently, the band said online of the new album's delay:

"These plans were authentic, but we are changing them. While there exists a collection of songs that, right now, some would call fit to be an album, to us it is not complete enough, refined enough, or edited thoroughly enough to be something we would call finished or essential. Brand New will not release a record in 2016.”

I suppose that if this is indeed going to be the group's final album, they would want it to be, you know, good!

Of course, the group are touring their "best" album, 2006's 'The Devil & God Are Raging Inside Me' in full in the US this year. Now, there's news if that anniversary tour will extend out to our shores, but it's Brand New - who knows what will happen at this point!

As a casual fan of the group myself, I sort of wish that the band would shit or get off the pot about this being their final album and with the ambiguous (or at least, teasing) nature regarding the plans for the band's remaining lifespan. Sure it's their art and their music - they can do what they very well please - but with so many eyes and ears glued to them, it almost feels... irresponsible. I feel sorry for the fans who are just so invested in this band, really.

But in any case, a photo shared online of the band's full statement can be found below.

Also, 'Daisy' is better, cheers.
