Set The Score and a bunch of their mates will all be playing for a good cause come October 29th.

Music in general - not just alternative or heavy - can be such a unifying thing. It can hep bring like-minded people together to create fun, happy memories that will last them a lifetime, no matter what's going on in their lives. Other times, it can create a beautiful sense of community and a real coping mechanism in the wake of a tragedy.

Melbourne local, Pat Cronin, was a young man that was killed by a senseless act of violence when he was struck by a single ‘coward's punch’ during a bar brawl in Diamond Creek in April of this year. Pat was hit from behind whilst he was assisting a friend, despite having no involvement in the fight that was going on around him. Cronin was only 19.

Melbourne's Set The Score, with the help of their mates in Transit GloriaStuck Out, Hollows, White Crows  and singer/songwriter Joey Cirillo, will all play on the same bill to honor Cronin and to help raise funds for the Pat Cronin Foundation "to help STOP the coward's punch".

With the announcement of this AA benefit show at the start of this month, Set The Score stated how honored they were to play the show and how close they are to the Cronin family in a public statement, saying:

"We are proud to announce that we will be headlining a very special All Ages show on October 29th at St Johns, Mitcham. Pat Cronin was a 19-year-old boy, taken away far too soon by a senseless act of violence after a single ‘cowards punch’ during a bar brawl in Diamond Creek on 16 April 2016.

Pat was struck from behind whilst assisting a mate, despite having no involvement in the fight that was going on around him.

What many of you may not know is that this band has been very close to the Cronin Family for a long time and this tragic even has an impact on all of us. All funds raised on the day will be going directly to the Pat Cronin foundation to assist their fight to help STOP the coward's punch.

We have brought together a line-up of acts who are all close to the Cronin family, and have even managed to bring back Hollows for a one-off reunion show where Pat's brother Lucas will be playing bass. We hope to see a lot of familiar faces on what should be a great show for a good cause."

As stated above, The Patrick Cronin Benefit Show goes down on October 29th, at St Johns Parish (494 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham, 3132). Doors at 1pm and it's only $10 entry, so you know, if you're in the area then maybe go down, see some cool acts, and feel good knowing that your money is going towards a good cause.

Foundation merchandise, along with a fundraising BBQ and raffle, will also be available on the day. Of course, any and all funds generated from this event will go directly to the Pat Cronin Foundation, and you can also donate to the foundation through their website.
