The new Aveira Skies is here. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill!

Aveira Skies are now back on the local scene with their brand new single, 'Utopia'.

It's been a long time between jams for these Perth lads, (well, about two years to be precise), with their last album being 2014's damn fine 'The Rise Of A New Breed'. But now they've bounced back hard with a very strong offering in the form of 'Utopia', which is culled from an upcoming release. Ooooooooh.

Sure, 'Utopia' shows a standard metalcore sound, but it's a damn good standard of what metalcore can be. The vehement, throaty screams, the thick guitar riffs, the tight, thunderous drumming all makes for a solid 3:43 minute listen. The uplifting choruses are simply huge and the underlying piano track towards the end was a stellar addition to an already stellar song.

Plus, as a drummer myself, I really appreciate the fact that you can hear drummer Dan Bonhomme's actual snare drum in the mix. Sure, I don't have the mix session so I could very well be ousted as talking complete shite, but it sure sounds like a real, thick snare drum to me, rather than the usual samples other bands use. (Here's looking at you Harbours, Hellions, Sylar, that one Trade Wind song).

The music video was filmed by Split Mask Media and the song itself was produced by Australian/Singapore engineer, Roland Lim (Make Them Suffer, Saviour, among many others). Take a look for yourself below and bookmark it!

Also, check out the dates for the band's upcoming national tour (which Killyourstereo.com is also very happy to be presenting) which will have both PledgeThis! or Atlantic in support.
