Whitechapel Have A Few Words For The Elitists Out There

Whitechapel’sMark Of The Blade’ has hit the digital and physical stands. Coming with their new album release, Whitechapel’s latest single/video ‘Elitist Ones’ is here to showcase their sound and style.

The track is about the high and mighty way in which many selfish individuals view themselves in, and the band’s complete lack of fucks given for those elitists and those attitudes. As the lyrics put it, ‘A self-absorbed population of scum‘. Metal.

The music video’s director, James Foster, comments on the project:

“As fans of Whitechapel, my entire team and I were stoked when Mike Faley (Metal Blade Records) asked me to write a treatment and direct for the band. As a director, my job is always easier when the band is rippin’… and holy shit are these guys RIPPIN’!”

While some may argue that this is just the same old band doing the same old thing, guitarist Alex Wade had this to say about the changes made to their sound:

“At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us.”

Right on. However, another music video in some random warehouse with the band playing through the song? That’s pretty mediocre, guys. We have enough of those on the Internet now.

Good song, though.
