In about five weeks time, Despised Icon will release their comeback album, 'Beast'. Following the brutal title track, the band seems to have backed off on the deathcore element and amped up their hardcore influences with a new song.

With some pretty groovy riffs and head-bobbing rhythms, and with an overall lack of pig squeals and blast beats (well, at least until the end) make 'The Aftermath' not quite as brutal as the past single, 'Beast' (P.S. check that one out if you haven't yet!). Sure, the song is still rather heavy, but if you dropped the heavier vocals of Steve Marios you would basically be left an Obey The Brave track. But hey, that's still fine in my books!

The Canadian's new record, 'Beast', lands on July 22nd through Nuclear Blast Records, and 'The Aftermath' (found below) was originally premiered over at Lambgoat.

Also, alongside the clip for 'In The Arms Of Perdition', this new music video only reinforces my Aussie perception that Canada is just under snow for most of the goddamn year.
