Despised Icon have made long-awaited return with a straight-up classic DI tune in the form of 'Beast'. It's a rather appropriate title too.

Taken from the upcoming album of the same name, 'Beast' is the Canadian metal outfit's first new song in almost seven years; since their initial break-up in 2010. The album was self-described by the band back in April as "...older slammin' Death Metal days blended with the speed and technicality of our latest records". Check out the new single and its film clip below.

The group's fifth album will drop on July 22nd through Nuclear Blast Records, and you know that it's going to be insanely heavy and will contain pig squeals for days. If you're reminiscing about their Australian tour all those years ago and have watched their farewell DVD too many times, then make sure you check out this performance of 'A Fractured Hand' from Impericon Festival last year. It's mighty fine.
