Sydney locals Born Lion have announced they will part ways with their drummer, Dave Murphy, at the end of this month.

According to the now three-piece act, there is no bad blood between the parties and the decision was merely a matter of the touring lifestyle becoming too hard on the man in question.

The last shows for Murphy, a founding member, will be as part of the band's current March tour (details of which are found below).

A statement reads:

"Hey gang,

It is with sadness that we’d like to announce the departure of our six pack wielding, drum lord extraordinaire Dave Murphy from the band. Dave is a founding member and has been a massive part of creating our sound. It is simply a matter of the traveling band lifestyle becoming too difficult to maintain. There is in no way any hard feeling and we will continue to be homeboys into the future. Dave will be playing his last bunch of shows this month, so come hang, say seeya and witness his percussion dominance one last time!

As for Born Lion, we feel we just gotta keep kickin’ out the jams! We have a bunch of (f$ckin’ killer!) new tunes, and we feel it is in the world’s best interest to hear them.

Onward and upward,

Much love to all xx

Dave, Red, Nath, John"
