Frank Watkins (ex-Obituary) passes away

Frank Watkins, the former bassist of Obituary and a member of Gorgoroth, has sadly lost his battle with cancer

He played in lesser known bands like Sacrosanct Bad Rep, Hellwitch and of course much more notably, Obituary and Gorgoroth. Watkins was the bassist for Obituary for eight of their nine albums (that last one being their most recent effort, 'Inked In Blood'). As for his time with the extreme and controversial Norwegian band, Gorgoroth, he went by the stage name of Bøddel. He played bass on their eighth album, 'Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt' (which translates to "They draw as many as they can toward Satanism" from Latin).

When news of the bassist's passing swept through the metal community, many a band shared their grief with the passing of one of their peers.
