Local bands can't seem to keep members, as Elegist have announced that Blake Curby has left the band.

Below is a message from Curby to the fans:

"Hey everyone!

I don't think there's an easy way to word this or what I should really say but I just want to thank everyone who has been apart of my time with Elegist. I've given it lots of thought & decided to leave the band to spend some time fixing some things in my personal life I've neglected over the last 4 years. I'm unsure if this is the end for me & music so I'll have to wait & see but I've got a lot of hobbies & other creative projects I'm looking forward to getting stuck into! Walking away from something I've helped build from the ground up is extremely hard but I'm excited to see what the future holds & I know this is the right choice to make given where life is telling me to go right now.

I want to thank the boys for pushing me continuously as a vocalist over the past 4 years, Chris, Cam, Dan, Ryan, Rehman thank you guys for such an incredible experience, you're all top quality blokes & I'm so proud of you all, I look forward to what you do from here on out!

There's honestly hundreds of people & so many amazing bands we've played with I could thank & I hope I can get around to thanking all of you individually over the next few months. But here's a couple legends & why. Tom Kennedy for kicking the shit out of us & being just a great mentor & best friend over the past 5 years! Reynolds, Stewbagz & Adam for driving us around the country, loading in our gear, selling our merch, telling us how much we suck & being some pretty damn good friends on the road, no Elegist tour was the same without at least one of you guys. Jayden & Matt at Chase Music Group / The Artery Foundation for all your hard work booking us the past 2 years, you guys gave me the chance to see parts of this country I never thought I would & I'm so thankful for those opportunities! Sonny & Gary @ STL studios, these guys were the master minds behind PY,FF & pushed me harder then anyone has musically, thank you guys! Lastly, Stevie @ Electric Sun Studios for helping 5 very inexperience young boys around the world of music & producing our first ever music.

Most importantly, the fans who I've practically always refereed to as friends, you guys have been the back bone of Elegist in my eyes & if it wasn't for all your stories & the kind messages I never would have made it this far. It's really heart warming to know my lyrics have been there to help when things get tough. I'll miss you all but I'm sure I'll see many of you around at local shows!

I have 4 shows left with the band, I hope to see as many familiar faces from over the years at these!"
