Local hardcore outfit Thorns have called it a day.

The Melbourne based band made the announcement this morning, citing outside commitments as the reason behind the decision.

Thorns provided the following statement via Facebook:

“You may or may not have heard, Thorns has decided to call it a day.

We all have a lot of shit going on in our lives right now and due to that, Thorns has had to take a back seat in recent months. We've always been the kind of band that has always had the 'All Or Nothing' kind of attitude, so as a collective, rather than play a handful of shows every year, struggle to write an album between jobs, home commitments etc etc, we'd rather just go out on a high with the amazing memories that we've acquired over the last 3 years.

Thanks to all the bands who we've shared the stage with, all the promoters who have hooked us up. Lloyd, Taylor & Brad for making our records sound amazing. Tommy Dollars / Washed Up Records for getting back into hardcore and having faith in us and putting out two records. Every single person who came to a show, moshed, sang along & bought a shirt. Kids with Thorns tattoos & the people that have told us that our band truly meant something to you... you're the reason we were in a band. It's truly overwhelming to mean so much to some people.

FINAL SHOW INFO: We'll most definitely be playing a last show sometime in the next few months so please keep an eye out for that. For now, feel free to head over to www.thorns.bigcartel.com and pickup a cheap shirt and then head over to www.washeduprecords.bigcartel.com and pick up our record, they of course, wont be re-pressed.

Again thanks to everyone that gave a shit about this band. We love you for it.
