Local hardcore upstarts Deadweight have provided an update following the band’s debut show in Melbourne last Saturday night.

Writing via tumblr, the group provided the following comment:

Really happy with the response and support from all those who made the effort to get there despite the weather being wet and grim!

Great Ape were surprising in a very good way, a different style to what I was expecting given that the group features members of Robotosaurus, Nighthag & The Rivalry. It was music I could see myself getting lost in, like a dark musical void.

Solis were great to watch, full on aggressive energy. A straight up dark hardcore style with overtones of sharp, rawness and punch. Credit to Joel their guitarist for putting on the show.

Disasters closed off the night with what I can only describe as loud, full-bearded fury.

Hope to play again very soon, good bands and good guys!

More shows are T.B.C and will be announced shortly.
