The lead vocalist of Sydney metal ]core act Caulfield, Mahan Shishineh, has announced today that he will be leaving the band.

Shishineh posted the announcement from the band's Facebook page earlier today. His full statement can be read below.

"To my dearest friends,

I have written this letter inside my mind a thousand times and never really been able to put it on paper but the time has come. It's time to say goodbye to my Caulfield family and move forward to a world that I have put on hold as long as I have been in the music industry.

I have spent the last 12 years of my life playing shows, touring and making records which has been so fulfilling. For the last four of those years I've been in Caulfield and it has been the most amazing experience of my life. We have played countless shows, met some amazing people and recorded two timeless records of which I am incredibly proud of. My journey ends here due to my desire to explore life outside music and being in a band.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has come to shows, held me on your shoulders, bought our cd and grabbed the mic to scream the words that have meant so much to me. I will miss you all so much.
To my brothers who have made Caulfield happen, Andrew, Colin, Laurent, Matt, Brad and Ned, you boys are the best brothers a man can have, thank you for letting me be a part of this.

Please continue to support Caulfield, I know I will and I'll see you all in the pit!
Love Mahan."

The band are still set to be supporting Iwrestledabearonce on their upcoming Australian tour later this month.
