New Orleans sludge metal stalwarts Eyehategod have officially set a release date for their upcoming self-titled album, their first LP to feature new material since 2000's 'Confederacy of Ruined Lives'. 

New Orleans sludge metal stalwarts Eyehategod have officially set a release date for their upcoming self-titled album, their first LP to feature new material since 2000's 'Confederacy of Ruined Lives'.


Scheduled for a May 26 release in Australia through Century Media, the album will be the band's first since the passing of late drummer Joey LaCaze in August but features some of his final recordings.

"This record’s pretty much a compilation," said guitarist Jimmy Bower when KYS spoke to the founding member back in December. 


"We haven’t put a record out in thirteen years, so it’s from around late 2005 on to like 2012, you know? Some of the songs are a lot more recent and some of them are a little older. We’re excited about it. It came out really good, and we’re excited to finally, finally get it out."
