Favourite all ages gig you’ve attended?

It’s a bit of a cop out to say a show that we played but a few years back we supported Defiance, Ohio from America on one of our first ever tours! The Melbourne show was at an amazing place called Cat Food Press and was all ages and easily one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve ever been to!

Best thing about all ages gigs?

Just being able to have all different kinds of people there, not only the people who are under 18 and wouldn’t be able to attend a regular show but also there tends to be more families that come out to all ages shows, which is always nice to see!

Top three songs to play in the tour van?

Cheap Girls – Been Gone All Summer

Jeff Rosenstock – Teenagers

Guided By Voices – Motor Away

Three musicians (living and/or dead) you’d invite to a party?

Andrew W.K, Jules from the Bennies and anyone from Luca Brasi

A song you’ll die a happy man if you never hear again?

Anything by Ke$h@

Worst thing you can do at a gig?

Ruin other people’s experience of the gig

Most anticipated album of 2014?

I’ve already heard the new Postblue and Luca Brasi albums and they are fucking amazing but I’d say most anticipated would be Pinch Hitter’s debut album!

Three bands you’d like to see tour Australia in 2014?

The Weakerthans

Guided By Voices

Superchunk

Hypothetical 1: The Smith Street Band are in jail and you get your one phone call. Which band on The Push On bill do you call to come bail you out and why?

Toss up between Bennies and Luca. Bennies have the knowledge of the streets and the know how but Luca have brute Tasmanian strength and Tom Busby’s riffs on their side so it’s a hard one.

Hypothetical 2: Ronnie Radke emails you asking to collaborate on a Smith Street Band song. What do you type in the response?

Who’s this?

Catch the band this Monday at Push On.

Additionally, The Smith Street Band tour this month with The Menzingers and Grim Fandango.
