An album that…made you want to become a musician?

I have always listened to music from a very young age but the band that made me start playing bass was Frenzal Rhomb. It was the first time I heard the bass breaking away from the guitars. I was 14 at the time.

An album that…has had the biggest impact and influence on you?

Spiral Architect - A Sceptic Universe.

Still to this day I have no idea what Lars Norberg is doing on the bass. It inspired me profoundly and always will.

An album that…instantly puts you in a good mood?

After the Burial - In Dreams.

This album got a bit of flack from fans after Rareform. The band themselves said it was a 'party album' and not meant to be tech and crazy. Just good hooks and good vibes. It's my favourite album to drive to. Windows down, sun in my face.

An album that…is considered a guilty pleasure?

The Jezabels - So Hard.

Australian Indie rock at its finest. I have seen them twice and I sing along at the top of my lungs.

An album that…was considered a massive letdown?

Architects - The Here and Now.

Hollow Crown was just perfect. Heavy, powerful and emotional. Their follow up was like a completely different band. I couldn't get through the first three songs.

An album that…you wished you performed on?

Dies Irae - Sculpture of Stone.

I wish I played guitar on it. It is so simple and direct and full of head banging groove. I bought a guitar and tuned it to D purely so I could play along to this album.

An album that…you consider underrated?

Wormed - Planisphaerium.

This album is so far ahead of its time. The muddy production and extreme guttural vocals turned many metal heads away instantly, and only a small amount of the underground understood what it was trying to convey. It took me a few listens to get my head around. The drumming stands out as one of my favourite performances on any album. No band has even come close to replicating the vibe. It is a genre on its own.

An album that…you would like played at your funeral?

The xx - self titled.

Particularly the song "stars". Heart wrenching.
