It's time now, however to look ahead at the great things that are set to come to us in 2014. Today, we look at the most anticipated punk upcoming releases for 2014 that we absolutely cannot wait to get our hands on!

For anyone that missed them, we posted our metal and hardcore lists earlier this week!

Yellowcard - TBA

Yellowcard stirred up a lot of buzz this year surrounding the tenth anniversary of their iconic breakthrough album, ‘Ocean Avenue,’ which saw them record the album from start to finish in an acoustic format, which was met by an almost universally positive reaction from fans. In an interview with City of Punk, the band announced plans to release another album in 2014, and while we don’t really know anything about it aside from ‘it’s happening,’ that’s still pretty exciting!

Luca Brasi - By A Thread

Tasmania’s finest. Luca Brasi showed us what they were capable of on their debut album ‘Extended Family’ in 2011. In 2014, the boys are bringing us their follow up, titled ‘By A Thread,’ and they’ve already given us a taste of what we can expect with the lead single ‘Borders and Statelines,’ which you can stream here! ‘By A Thread’ is set to drop on March 14th via Poison City Records.

We Are The In Crowd - Weird Kids

We Are The In Crowd have been slowly but surely building up a strong fanbase worldwide, and are now set to release their second studio album through Hopeless Records on February 18th. Lead single 'The Best Thing (That Never Happened)’ takes thing in a bit of a different direction for the band, showing more attitude in that one song than the band have ever shown in their entire career, but it’s a move that is no doubt going to serve them well on ‘Weird Kids.’

The Menzingers - TBA

When our reviewer reviewed The Menzingers latest album ‘On The Impossible Past’ in 2012, he said “it isn’t too bold a statement to say that this band is playing some of the best music in the punk rock genre right now,” and honestly, he couldn’t have been more correct. There isn’t a great deal of information known about this one, except that the band have finished recording it, but The Menzingers know what they’re doing, and it’s not hard to imagine that this album is going to be amazing.

The Gaslight Anthem - TBA

It’s amazing how far The Gaslight Anthem have come. That said, for anyone that’s listened to the group, it’s not hard to understand why. You can pick any of the band’s four records at random and be blown away no matter what you end up with. The band have just released a live DVD, and 2014 will see them release a collection of B-sides as well as the follow up to 2012’s ‘Handwritten,’ and if the band manage to follow suit from what they've released in the past, it’ll be another amazing record to add to their already incredible catalogue.

Frank Turner - TBA

Seriously, what’s not to love about Frank Turner? The folk/punk singer-songwriter has the type of raw honesty in his music that manages to hit just about anyone who listens to him, regardless of what type of music they happen to like. Despite having only released his latest effort ‘Tape Deck Heart’ less than 12 months ago, Frank stated a few months ago that his next album is more than half done, and has even begun playing a couple of new tracks live, so it appears we may be getting a new full length from him a lot sooner than we would’ve expected.

You Me At Six - Cavalier Youth

You Me At Six are set to release the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Sinners Never Sleep’ later this month (On January 27th, to be exact), and it’s looking pretty damn impressive at the moment. The two singles released from the album so far, ‘Lived A Lie’ and ‘Fresh Start Fever’ show the band at the best that any of us have seen, so if the rest of ‘Cavalier Youth’ is as strong as these two tracks, then we’re in for an absolutely killer release from the British pop-punk band.

Rise Against - TBA

Rise Against are one of the biggest bands in modern punk rock, and very few bands manage to create music with the same level of sheer intensity, while still managing to appeal to such a wide range of people as these guys do. The band begun work on their seventh studio album towards the end of last year, with an expected release date for some point in 2014. The information we have on it may be vague at this point, but hey, any news on this front is pretty good!

Blink 182 - TBA

Blink 182 was the topic on the entire internet’s lips when they announced their reformation in 2009. They then went on to record their comeback album, ‘Neighborhoods,’ which polarised their fanbase like very few bands have done so beforehand. The band have stated that they’re hoping to have their next album out before they headline Reading and Leeds in August, so if all goes to plan, we’ll have a new Blink 182 album within the next 8 months!

Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues

It’s been four years since Against Me! released ‘White Crosses,’ and it’s been about three since we first heard whispers of the band’s next album ‘Transgender Dysphoria Blues,’ which seemed to just be constantly pushed further and further back. A lot has happened in that name, most notably Tom Gabel coming out as transgender, and changing his name to Laura Jane Grace, which is a topic that will be dealt with heavily on this release. The album is now only a fortnight away, with a release date set for January 21st.

So, what releases are you most excited for this year? Is there anything we missed that you can't wait to hear? Let us know in the comments below.
