The annual Push Over Festival is set to take place on Sunday March 7th and we caught up with Brisbane pop rockers Wherewolves to chat about it all...

Let's start with your name and what you do in the band?

Jared Tredly – Drums - Wherewolves

Tell us a bit about how you guys got together?

Played in various Brisbane bands over the years but a fateful night where the planets aligned brought the four of us together.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?
We play pop music but think we’re a rock band, so it’s fun and upbeat but full of great dance/rock moves.

When and why did you decide you wanted to play music?

Most of us took it up in high school, as fans of music it seemed like a good idea to have a crack at making some. We’re still learning how to play our instruments.

What are you most looking forward to about playing Push Over 2010?

Being back down south and seeing some friends, being part of a festival with some many good things about it - all ages, affordable and filled with so many great bands. It will just be great to get around and watch so many of the gnarly bands playing on the day.

Any particular bands you would like to see on the bill?

We’re lucky that this scene has so many good bands in it but not all of them can fit on one festival line up. Our good friends Stealing O’Neal are always great to play with, and our local pals Save us For Summer.

What is the best thing about playing an all ages festival like Push Over?

The enthusiasm kids bring. Reminds you of how simple it has to be. Friends and good music, that’s all!

What motivates the band to play music?

The constant push to write a good song, to perform to your ability as a unit and create something worthy of someone else’s time. The after-party of a killer show.

What can people expect from your live show?

Pointy shoes, dancing, pop-tastic synth, sweaty hair, good times.

Tell us what the band have planned for 2010?

The Album! Currently writing and demo-ing it and then hopefully recording and releasing, followed by tour tour tour!

What was the last album you put on your iPod and how did you get into the band?

Manchester Orchestra, through my love of brand new I checked this band out and cheated on Brand New with them. Caught them live at Splendour in the Grass and they are amazing.

Which member has the most annoying habit?

Sam’s absolutely shit house “dad” jokes, the kind your dad makes and you just shake your head.

What is your favourite Die Hard movie?

The action packed one with Bruce Willis in it…
