The annual Push Over Festival is set to take place on Sunday March 7th and we caught up with Melbourne's City Escape to chat about it all...

Let's start with your name and what you do in the band?

My name's Jarrod, I sing and play guitar in City Escape.

Tell us a bit about how you guys got together?

Same old story really, we were all in a few bands that broke up and eventually all came together to start something new.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?

This is always hard. I'd have to say we're like an edgy rock band, that sort of dabbles in some ambience and pop.

When and why did you decide you wanted to play music?

Since before I can remember! My mum made me take piano lessons when I was in the second grade so I guess it most likely started from there.

What are you most looking forward to about playing Push Over 2010?

Getting the attention of some new listeners.

Any particular bands you would like to see on the bill?

I'm keen to see 50 Lions, Dash & Will and our mates Heroes for Hire.

What is the best thing about playing an all ages festival like Push Over?

Well the turn outs are always great! You get to play alongside other great bands! And you get to meet a whole heap of new people.

What motivates the band to play music?

Loads of stuff. Music, movies, women, life etc.

What can people expect from your live show?

Something you can move to, or sit back and enjoy what you hear.

Tell us what the band has planned for 2010?

Hoping to get into the studio to record a full length that we're currently writing for.

What was the last album you put on your iPod and how did you get into the band?

Mike Snow, this sweet band from Sweden. My friend Luis showed them to me - blew me away.

Which member has the most annoying habit?

Matt or Chris. Their snoring is beyond belief. Matt once woke up a neighbour of a house we crashed at.

What is your favourite Die Hard movie?

Probably Die Hard 1. I've watched it waaay more than the rest - it’s so sick when his feet get all cut up in the glass, but he still kicks everyone’s ass.
