‘Today Show’ Music Reporter Brooke Boney Quits
Brooke Boney joined the 'Today Show' in 2019 from triple j, where she worked with Ben & Liam, now presenters on NOVA.

Brooke Boney, a reporter for Channel Nine’s Today Show, has announced her departure from the role later this year.
Announcing the big news on today’s screens, Boney revealed that she’s received an offer from Oxford University and will embark on the journey after the end of the Olympics in August.
“I’ve been offered a place at Oxford University later this year, which means I’ll be leaving the show after the Olympics,” she said. “I don’t want to go into too much right now because there’ll be plenty of time for goodbyes and thank yous, but I just wanted to share that good-slash-bad news with you all this morning.”
She continued, “It’s been a dream of mine to be able to study at an overseas university, and it just felt like the right time to take that step. I’m so grateful to come in here every day, and I love you all so much. It’s made the decision really difficult, but it just means that you’ll all have to plan trips to the UK to come and visit me!”
Her co-stars, Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo and Alex Cullen, all gave Boney a round of applause. “I feel like I’m going to cry,” Abo said, while Stefanovic proclaimed that the team is “so proud” of her.

Boney is leaving the Today Show after five years. She joined in 2019 from triple j, where she worked with Ben & Liam, now presenters on NOVA.
When news broke of her appointment in 2018, she stated, “It’s such an exciting time to be joining Nine, and I am looking forward to learning from everyone on the Today team.
“As a young girl growing up in the country, I watched Today, so it’s really awesome to know it’ll be my new home.”
In November, Boney hosted the ARIA Awards alongside comedian Tommy Little. In a statement published by TV Tonight, Boney said of her role as one of the hosts: “I’m absolutely thrilled to co-host the 2023 ARIA Awards alongside Tommy.
“Music has the power to bring people together, and it’s an honour to be a part of an event that celebrates the incredible talent within Australia’s music industry.”
