Doja Cat Paints Australia Red For A Second Week At #1

Paint The Town Red also holds for a third straight week at #1 in New Zealand and climbs to the top for the first time in Ireland too (LW-3), with the track climbing to new peaks in England (4 to #2), The U.S.A. (15 to #5) and Canada (11 to #6). Plus, Doja Cat issued a six-track EP on Friday called Demons + Paint the Town Red, which consists of her new freaky-clip single Demons, and five versions of Paint, the original and four remixes, which could increase its hold on the #1 spot, as this week the song becomes the tenth highest selling single for the year (the nine higher sellers above it are the first nine weeks at #1 for Flowers by Miley Cyrus).

Taylor Swift sees Cruel Summer jump up two places to a new peak of #2 this week, matching its Canadian peak, making us the only two countries to place the track this high, while it's also Top 10 in The U.S.A. (#4, HP-3), New Zealand (#7, HP-5) and England (#4, HP-3). This is followed by a three-place rise to #3 for Morgan Wallen with Last Night, with the track last this high on the charts on July 17th, while the song holds for a sixth week at #1 in Canada and #3 in The U.S.A.

Dave and Central Cee dip one spot this week to #4 with Sprinter, while the second and final on-hold Top 10 entry this week is at #5, Dua Lipa with Dance the Night, which is also on hold at #5 in NZ, dips to #5 in Canada and leaves the #1 spot in both England (TW-15) and Ireland (TW-12), while the second Barbie soundtrack entry to the Top 10 this week is Billie Eilish with What Was I Made For?, which is down one spot to #8 this week and at #3 in all three locations of England, Ireland and New Zealand too.

With Luke Combs finishing up his national tour this past sales week, his #2 peak last week for his cover of Fast Car drops back down this week four places to #6, while back up one spot to #7 is the Olivia Rodrigo track vampire, which jumped to #1 in England this week for its first stay there, while her second album GUTS will be out next Friday (Sept. 8th).

The Weeknd announced more shows this past week for his upcoming November 2023 national tour, and that has given him two Top 10 entries this week, starting with his former four-week #11 peaking track Popular, which climbs two places to a new peak of #9 this week (jumps to #6 in New Zealand), becoming his 17th Top 10 placement in Australia, plus the first ever for guest artist Playboi Carti and also the 41st for Madonna and her first since 4 Minutes (April 2008). Then this is followed by an eight-place jump to #10 for his Ariana Grande duet Die For You, clocking up its 17th week within the Top 10 and the first time since it left the ten on July 3rd.

TOP 20:

NEW PEAK: Well, actually it's a peak-hold at #12 for the Zach Bryan track Something In The Orange, which is the highest of eight Top 100 entries this week for the U.S. country act who sees his new self-titled album debut at #2 this week locally, more on his many positions in the new entries section down below.

There is only one climbing track within the entire Top 20 this week, and it only moves up one spot to #18, Calm Down for Rema and Selena Gomez, which cracks one year (52 weeks) within the Top 100 this week, while Ms. Gomez also has a Top 30 debut this week with her new song Single Soon.

The two Top 10 dropouts this week are for Gunna with FukUMean (HP-7, WI10-5a, 10 to #11) and Barbie World for Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Aqua (HP-3x2, WI10-5, 9 to #14), while Nicki issued a new track on Friday called Last Time I Saw You. Down one spot to #15 after leaping from 66 to #14 last week is the current U.S. #1 song Rich Men Of North Richmond by Oliver Anthony Music.

TOP 30:

Jumping back up ten places to #24 is Riptide for Vance Joy, with another two tracks by The Weeknd in Save Your Tears up thirteen places to land at #27 and Creepin' by Metro Boomin', The Weeknd and 21 Savage moving back up six places to #30.

After a single week within the Top 20, the Luke Combs track The Kind Of Love We Make is down four places to #21; expect a rebound in two weeks’ time for the second Olivia Rodrigo entry once her second album comes out, but this week, bad idea right? drops down seven places to #22, and Kill Bill for SZA (with Doja Cat) falls back down six spots to #28.

TOP 40:

NEW PEAK: Last week's Top 100 entry Prada by cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe flew up thirty-seven places to land at a new peak of #31, plus it's the new #1 Dance Track this week, while it also jumps into the Top 10 in England (20 to #8), Ireland (11 to #2), while the track is a remix by cassö of a D-Block Europe featuring RAYE track called Ferrari Horses.

The Weeknd's jumping track within the Top 40 this week is Starboy, which flies up twenty-six spots to #34, while the same-titled parent album jumps to #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart too. The other big jump into the forty this week is for Fleetwood Mac with Dreams, up nine spots to #36, while next week sees their new live album Rumours Live issued, so the track might keep rising over the next few weeks.

Dropping down are Harry Styles' As It Was (24 to #32; only its fourth ever occasion within this chart region), Karma by Taylor Swift (27 to #33), Rush for Troye Sivan (29 to #35; new remix with PinkPantheress and Hyunjin {from Stray Kids} issued on Friday), When It Rains It Pours for Luke Combs (25 to #38), Boy's A Liar (pt.2) by PinkPantheress and Ice Spice (28 to #39) and the #1 Club Track for Peggy Gou with (it goes like) Nanana drops down eight to land at #40 this week.

TOP 50:

NEW PEAK: The new SZA track Snooze leaps up fifty places this week to land at a new chart height of #45, one spot higher than its March 27th peak of #46, with the song climbing thanks to a video clip issued for the track in the past week. The sixth and final Top 50 entry for The Weeknd sees his late-2019 issued track Blinding Lights jump up twenty places to land at #45, its first Top 50 berth since January 9th (#37), while in the lower fifty, he has re-entries with The Hills (#54) and alongside Swedish House Mafia on Moth to a Flame (#63).

Taylor Swift has two Top 50 entries this week with Style (37 to #42) and Blank Space (41 to #49), while Travis Scott is down to only two Top 100 entries this week, with Telekinesis his only Top 50 entry (30 to #43), while his lower fifty track is Meltdown (46 to #77). The fourth and final Top 50 placement for Luke Combs is Beautiful Crazy, down twelve to #47, followed by the Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding track Miracle, down nine to #48, while the final Barbie entry sees the Charli XCX entry Speed Drive hurtle down nineteen places to park at #50 this week.

NEW ENTRIES:

* #13 - Used To Be Young by Miley Cyrus (Smiley Miley/Columbia) is the fourth charting single from Miley's latest album Endless Summer Vacation, with the twelve-week running former #1 Flowers (TW-17) the first issued track, while the second and third occurred when the album came out on March 20th when both Jaded (HP-75) and River (HP-22) charted. This new entry has also landed first-week placements in Ireland (#7), England, New Zealand and Norway (all #12), Sweden (#23) and The Netherlands (#35), plus it pulls her album back into the chart at #86 locally.

* #19 - I Remember Everything by Zach Bryan feat. Kasey Musgraves (Belting Bronco / Warner) is taken from his self-titled fourth studio album which debuts at #2 on this week's chart (No.1 in N.Z.), plus the album has delivered six more Top 100 entries this week (five from the album), Hey Driver (#53, feat. The War and Treaty), East Side of Sorrow (#74), Spotless (#79, feat. The Lumineers), Fear and Friday's (#96), Overtime (#100), while his January 2023 issued duet with Maggie Rogers called Dawns makes its first Top 100 appearance at #97. This new song has also charted the first week in England (#56), Ireland (#15) and New Zealand (#26).

* #26 - Single Soon by Selena Gomez (Interscope) is the first new solo material for 2023 for the singer and actress, who last charted on November 14th, 2022 with My Mind & Me (HP-98), while she racks up a year in the Top 100 this week on the Rema track Calm Down (HP-11, TW-17), which managed to climb to #1 in Canada. Overseas entries occur in England (#21), Ireland (#19), Norway (#16), New Zealand (#35) and it's only Top 10 entry (so far) in The Netherlands (#9).
