Australian digital distribution and DSP specialist Sarah Hamilton has launched a new music consulting company called Golden Hour.

Promising to offer expert guidance for music distribution and release strategies, Hamilton will bring more than a decade of experience to her new venture.

Throughout her career in the music industry, Hamilton was the Regional Manager of Australia and New Zealand at Ditto Music for nine years, was listed in The Music’s Power 50 roundup, and was awarded the inaugural Outstanding Woman in Music award at the Music Victoria awards thanks to her work in the charity organisation that promotes non-male members of the industry, One Of One.

Hamilton’s career has also seen her in the spotlight, as she has delivered conference speeches at BIGSOUND, IndieCon, Face The Music, the Women in Music Production Summit, and more.

Hamilton had already secured an impressive roster of clients for Golden Hour, including The Annex (Royel Otis, Genesis Owusu, Willow, Mom + Pop Music, Unified Music Group), Ashwarya, Ryan Downey, BIGSOUND (she was an Industry Consultant last year), Jess Ribeiro, Monrxe, AUM Management, and others.

Golden Hour will provide artists with A&R and music feedback, release rollout strategies and planning, playlist auditing and target listing, connecting artists to discuss with distributors and offer advice, PR recommendations, guidance in optimising DSP platforms, group presentations—including lecturing and speaking engagements—and general music industry advice.

In a statement, Hamilton said of the launch of Golden Hour, “It can be really overwhelming for artists to know how to release music in 2024. I wanted to create a consulting service accessible to artists and industry professionals at every level.

“I love working with artists and people from all different backgrounds and have experience across all genres of music and I'm passionate about helping artists develop a plan and connect with the right people.”

Artist Ashwarya stated that Hamilton goes “above and beyond” for artists, adding that she’s “not only an industry boss woman” but a “genuinely passionate human being who cares about the music and artists she works with first and foremost.”

Matthew Craig of hip-hop music publication AU Dollars called Hamilton an “unheralded champion” of Australian music. Craig added, “Intelligent, connected, forward-thinking, and highly approachable, she’s simply one of my most trusted and favourite people in the game.”
