Queensland electronic indie pop artist Sabrina Lawrie burst back onto the scene in November with a new sound, offering up a vulnerable and honest single in Nopiates.

The song explores addiction and substance abuse while putting forward a positive message of self-love.

Its accompanying music video was filmed at Brisbane’s Can You Keep A Secret?, a bar inside a vintage clothing shop, and also various places around the streets of Woolloongabba and Mount Glorious.

“It was a nice way to pay homage to our beautiful city,” Lawrie told The Music.

“It was really refreshing to collaborate with Erin Fraser-Currie and Rhys Ellis who had a clear vision for the music video, reflecting on addiction, self-realisation and nature as a remedy.”

Nopiates is taken from Lawrie’s forthcoming second album, expected to be released in 2019.
