Newcastle-based artist e4444e, aka Romy Church, has exclusively shared the video for his latest track Wolves with theMusic.com.au ahead of its official release.

The video, directed by visual artist David Lobb, was initially inspired by time apart.

"This clip came from a period of radio silence essentially," Lobb told The Music

"Being away for a long time, it was really exciting to see what kinda music Romy had been making and how he was thinking about music in general. It was a brand new direction and it gave me a lot of joy to listen back over again and again, bringing back a lot of memories about our time as friends.

"The song is so well crafted and I wanted to give as much breathing room for it [as I could]. I’ve always liked the idea of a couch in the back of a moving car, so we went to Ash Island in Newcastle where not too many cars go and did just that! It’s a very simple concept and it was a lot of fun to film."

The new video also comes with the announcement that Church has signed a deal with Spunk Records

“The first time I heard e4444e I was hooked,” Spunk label head Aaron Curnow shared.

“I love how there’s a level of pop mixed in with a level of weirdness. Really excited to see where e4 heads in the future as well.”

Church will also head out on tour later this month in support of the single.
