“It was a hectic week."

More Captives More Captives

The new clip from Melbourne punk rockers Captives has a “dark, aggressive feel to it”, as guitarist Cam Owen told The Music.

Brought to life by director Dave Hunter, the vibe of the Buried & Bones clip, premiering today via The Music, matches the song.

“Dave Hunter was great to work with and helped bring the concept to life from start to finish,” Owen said.

Vocalist Aaron Damon added: “After we finished tracking, we started trying to brainstorm a few ideas for a cool video.

“Cam had this crazy looking wooden box at his house and somehow it ended up being the focus of the clip.

“Someone had the idea of the band being in the box and we started looking for places with wooden walls to replicate the inside, but we couldn’t find anything that looked the same as this box, so we went a bought a heap of timber panels and spent two days staining the timber, took it all down to DCF studios in Thornbury and built a life-sized box.

“It was a hectic week but once it all came together, I think everyone was stoked.”

Buried & Bones is the band’s first new music for the year, following on from a 2020 that saw them sign a bookings deal with Beats Cartel.
