No Country For Old Men

Strange to have a movie with literally no soundtrack on this list but I was really getting into a lot of western films, books and comics in the lead-up to the album and I feel like this is up there with the best of them. There is a slight desert/western influence in the music across the project that is largely inspired by this type of imagery.

Drive

One of my favourite movie soundtracks of all time and I was really trying to channel some of the late-night melancholy/nostalgia into the record.

Paris, Texas

A movie that I watched for the first time only a year or two ago. Full of stunning shots and a real hard to describe small-town kind of calm and laziness that really draws me into a movie. But most of all a powerful message that thematically inspired a lot of lyrical concepts.

Silence

One of my favourite films period and definitely one of the most thought-provoking. For years the themes in this movie have really induced a certain level of depth to the way I think and write about faith and life.

Anima

Maybe a stretch to include on the list but this short film by Paul Thomas Anderson and Thom Yorke was well and truly the catalyst for me wanting to start another project. Seeing this for the first, second and third time made me fall in love with creativity all over again.
