Vance Joy Tour Diary Part One

22 October 2014 | 12:53 pm | Vance Joy

Vance Joy goes skinny-dipping in Europe. Oh and he plays a bunch of shows too.

What legendary person finished their apple and balanced it atop this bike seat? This grabbed my attention in the streets of London, whoever did this is a dead set legend.

Got to play on Jools Holland — FKA twigs is to the right - her dance was mesmerising. This old guy from the Ojays crew said I did a good job, which made me feel good.

Got our kits off and showed our mediocre riggs off, in Marseille, France. The beach was pebbles, no sand, no mess, no lingering sand in the socks - how good is that? Fisherman casting off in the distance. Revitalised by the salty water.

Played two shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire - loved walking around Portobello in the days before the shows.

A fan posted her picture of us on Facebook and we were amazed by the likeness - details were spot on. She came to the Paris show with the original in hand, we signed it for her and I wrote a little message. Before we played Riptide I asked where she was in the crowd and gave it back to her. Good moment.

We drew on this bag for one of my managers. We all contributed one scene - how about that cheeky frog, see the second muppets movie if you haven’t already there is amazing performances by Kermit and his nemesis, Constantine The Frog. I am dead serious btw.

Back stage cups of tea and legend that is Carl who was guitar tech and more on the UK/Europe run. I just like this pic.

Edwin White on the drums, can play and gets into it and loves the songs so what else is there!
