The McClymonts Tour Diary: Part Four

The ladies get their roving reporter on at CMC.

In the middle of our national tour we made a stop in to Brisbane's Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The Country Music Channel were holding the fifth annual CMC Awards and we were fortunate to be nominated.

We also were asked to do some reporting for the awards on the night. Brooke had the pleasure of hosting the red carpet, interviewing the stars as they arrived, including Lady Antebellum and Lee Brice. Mollie and I were the backstage bandits, chatting to all the winners after they received their awards.

In between all of the performances, we were blown away to be named CMC Group/Duo of the Year. The awards are purely fan voted so we feel absolutely humbled and honoured that our fans went to so much effort to vote for us and get us the win. The awards night blew us away and we can't wait for people to catch the televised event on CMC soon.

Afterwards, it was up bright and early to fly back to the Hunter Valley where we performed at the inaugural Campfire Music Festival at Hope Estate. The winery is known for its large scale concerts and this one did not disappoint. It was great to get out there on stage and play for 75 minutes to the crowd that had turned out. Right in the middle of the set it started to rain but instead of people running for cover — umbrellas, tarps and Driza-Bones came out and everyone stayed right where they were. They were in for a big night and came prepared.

More festivals are on their way with the Snowy Mountains Festival in Thredbo this weekend. We haven't been down that way for a long time so we are all pretty pumped to get down there. The it's off to SA for some more touring and we can't wait to update you with the travels.

Until next time.
