“The most liberating feeling was being able to record and produce music the way I wanted again,” Grady exclaims regarding the 2011 release of his seven-track EP. “I experimented the last couple of years working with producers and it always felt forced. At the end of the day, if I can listen to a piece of music I've created and feel satisfied enough, then I want to share it with people. By releasing the music through my Bandcamp/Facebook site there's no hassles and no waiting around. I gave people the option of downloading it for free or nominating their own price, and maybe the most surprising and uplifting thing was fans' generosity. It just shows if people like the art they're willing to pay for it.”

The Brisbane local is continuing with this magnanimous musical behaviour, stepping up to help local community radio station 4ZZZ help independent artists like himself. Acknowledging the importance of generating support from the community, the singer-songwriter will be treating the masses to new material, coinciding with the Brisbane Music Stall launch at the always-electric West End Twilight Markets. Listening to the haunting beauty in Grady's vocals and the subtle-yet-strong guitar work, the coupling is sure to be a natural and obvious fit.

“4ZzZ have been supporting music and artists for such a long time now, so it's only natural we give something back,” he says. “Local music and art can so easily be lost in the crowd, so it's important for there to be a central place for the public to be able to discover, listen, and buy what Brisbane has to offer.”
