SINGLE PREMIERE: Valentina Brave - 'This Place Your Soul'

Officially finding its place in the world tomorrow, The Music is today premiering Valentina Brave's new song This Place Your Soul.

This Place Your Soul pays homage to Australia’s First Nations people, acknowledging that we are all standing on sacred land that is the lifeblood of the oldest continuous culture on earth.

"This Place Your Soul is a song that is very close to my heart," Brave told The Music. 

"I wrote this about and for the people who generously shared their lives and stories with my family and I while we lived in a community in Arnhem Land. It is a reflection on the fact that we are living in a place that is not just earth, sea, dirt and sky, but it is part of an ancient ongoing spiritual history that is the very soul of Australia's First Nations peoples."

The song is a collaboration between Brave and senior Dalabon singerman Victor Rostron, and was produced by ARIA-nominated artist Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin).
