“Both the songs came from all the free time I had in lockdown."
Ballarat musician Tim Currie was productive during lockdown, as evident via his debut singles, both of which premiere today via The Music.
Folk/pop gems High Rise and Lonely For You see Currie offer up pop hooks, lush sounds and relatable lyrics.
“Both the songs came from all the free time I had in lockdown,” Currie said.
“I was lucky enough to record with Michael Belsar (Twinsy, Hunting Grounds) in his studio in Melbourne in between lockdown periods where I could travel to Melbourne again. Lonely For You has some pretty standard existential crisis themes coming from the pandemic, whereas High Rise was written when I was pretty certain the world was going to explode.”
Check out both tracks above ahead of their official release this Friday.
