More The Iron Eye More The Iron Eye

Teaming up with Shihad legend Tom Larkin, Brisbane rockers The Iron Eye have gone bold, big and dirty for the release of Conscience Cleaner.

The new cut is a “frenetic three minutes of fuzzed-out, self-diagnosed destruction”, with Larkin describing the band as sounding like "The Prodigy.. if they were a rock band”.

Conscience Cleaner marks a change of direction for the trio, but it wasn’t an easy path to the finished product.

"This one was tough, but oh so worth the hard work and trouble,” drummer Antonio Mancini said.

After flying Larkin's engineer Jon Grace up to Brisbane, they had a slew of issues in the studio with equipment.

“We left the studio that night pretty defeated and rang Tom.

“We told him that things weren’t working up here and that we were flying to Melbourne in the morning, which we did!”

The song then came together at Homesurgery Recordings over the course of the next week.

“The added financial and time pressure resulted in this absolute monster of a track, and honestly... it was all worth it."

The Iron Eye will tour Conscience Cleaner across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in the coming months; all the details of which you can find in theGuide.

They’ve also been named as a finalist in VB’s Hard Yards competition and are up for cash and touring opportunities. If you dig the new tune, head over to the Hard Yards website to vote.
