Sydney post-punk outfit Radio Free Alice today follow up their solid debut single with new track Fire Warning.

Premiering via The Music, Fire Warning is, as the band described, “a nostalgically new wave power-pop anthem that appeals to both the drunk guy on the dance floor and the depressive music snob in the corner”.

The new song announces itself with “a whirling guitar line that sounds like an air raid siren”, “feels fresh and immediate” and features “guitars with clean tones and clever notes, melodic bass lines, urgent drum beats”, all backing the “smooth, melodramatic croon” of vocalist Noah Learmonth.

Hailing from the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, Radio Free Alice released their debut single Square last year, inspired by Talking Heads, The Cure, The Go-Betweens, Parquet Courts, The Strokes and more.

Their first track received triple j airplay and praise from Unearthed, which resulted in the group selling out their first-ever headline shows and amassing over 138,000 streams on Spotify.

It’s expected Radio Free Alice will release their debut EP this year.
