Melbourne-based, singer-songwriter Houg is back, today premiering the second single off his debut EP, The Oscillation Scene, via theMusic.com.au.

The track, entitled Boy, follows in the same chillwave territory as his previous release, Houg telling The Music it is "an introspection on the fragility of the self".

"The self is naively inclined to take a ‘dive into the sea for an eternity’, but soon finds that the solitude and seeming weightlessness of this exploration is only a prelude to the sobering pressure and fear of the unknown," he shared.

"Taking a turn from unassuming desire to the onset of claustrophobia, the certainty of the self cracks, and sets off a conundrum of fickle fragility - an oscillation”.

Houg relocated to Melbourne from Singapore in 2019.

“It has been quite a journey of highs and lows finding my way into the Australian music scene," he told The Music

"I’m here because it’s a culture I can relate to, and a community that appreciates my music.

Sacrifices have been made along the way, which come with any impassioned pursuit, and they’ve had a significant impact on my emotional and physical wellbeing. These stories are very much a part of my music.”
