Today we are thankful for this hot, hot weather because we get to take a dip in the brand new track from Melbourne's Hobsons Bay Coast Guard, premiering exclusively on theMusic.com.au.

Slacker, surf, psyche, call it what you want, Junkie is chock full of all the right things. The fourth release from the band's forthcoming debut album, it's already the soundtrack of our summertime adventures.

Junkie is for me one of those black sheep songs in an album that show the band have more up their sleeve," bassist, guitarist and vocalist Erik Scerba says of the track.

"I remember when Chris [Ray] showed me the demo for this I was like, 'What? Where did these pop sensibilities come from? Aren’t we are making a surf scrap band?' Even from the lo-fi demo I thought this was a clever song."
