Frank James is back with a brand new single today, premiering exclusively with The Music

Dubbed Friday, the track - which is about "going out all the time and getting fucked up and how that can get a bit monotonous" - saw James head to Forbes Street Studios in Sydney to work with Dan Frizza (The Waifs, G Flip, Bernard Fanning and more).

"Friday just kind of fell out of me one day whilst strumming away on the guitar. I remember I was feeling particularly fragile after a big night out and just a bit over that whole situation," James told The Music

"It’s funny, I’m always brutally honest with myself when I’m writing songs so it often uncovers things I’m struggling to address.

"It wasn’t until I finished the thing that I made the realisation that I was pretty unhappy with the lifestyle I was living at the time."
