Single title? Body Lies

What’s the song about? Ahhh, it’s about how sometimes our bodies have a second conversation to what comes out of our mouths.

How long did it take to write/record? The melody and chords were written relatively quickly. I def take my time with lyrics though! The song took around six hours to record in Fremantle Recording Studio with the talented Brian Mitra.

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Yeah it’s taken from a five-track EP we will be releasing later this year or early next. It’s definitely the most sugar-pop song on the record.

What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? During songwriting life inspires me. If nothing interesting is happening in my life then usually I don’t write any songs! During recording it was drinking beer, not working, being creative and having a blast.

We’ll like this song if we like... I think people will like the song if they enjoy shiny sugar-pop songs.

Do you play it differently live? Yeah pretty much – although we play a lot harder. We have just added a third member of the band, Brian Mitra, but we are still limited to three instruments live.

When and where is your launch/next gig? We are launching the single at The Odd Fellow in Freo on Friday 5 Sep, then heading to The White Star Hotel in Albany on Saturday 6 Sep.
