What cause are you raising funds for? The Good Buddies Foundation is raising funds for the crew at Dada Records who host the Garage Gigs for free in the back of the store. They have been hosting free all ages live music events on Saturday afternoons steadily since around 2009 and in recent years attracting big profile national and international touring acts. The funds will be used to buy them a new PA speaker system, mixing desk, microphones, stands, cables plus and left over cash will be used to repair and refurbish the space itself to help it continue being the dopest free and all ages original music venue in Perth city.

How did this show come about? The idea was sparked by Mr Adam 'Brown' Burgess, who suggested the fundraiser to The Good Buddies Foundation in light of Dada having to borrow a whole mass of equipment from us for a recent gig – an act from Sydney greatly desired to perform in the garage due to its reputation, even though the venue didn't actually have things like microphones, stands, cables… you know, all that essential stuff for putting on a gig. Recent local gigs have seen poor artists dishing out their own cash to hire better PA systems to play through – even though they weren't making any money from the shows! We decided this shouldn't be the case. If there's a demand to play at this venue, then it should have adequate facilities. Peter Bibby and myself have headed up the organisation of this show with help from Ben Stewart who books the Dada shows.

Who's playing and why did you select those acts? Mink Mussel Creek, Drowning Horse, Usurper Of Modern Medicine and Frozen Ocean, plus solo sets from Chris Cobilis, Sacred Flower Union and Craig McElhinney. Rob 'Old Man Dada' might even do a DJ set if we coax him enough. All the acts were selected by Ben Stewart, the man who currently runs the Garage Gigs – he curated based on the artists that have been the most involved in creating the reputation that the garage has today.

How do people get tickets? $10 door sales, cheap fun. Extra donations will be accepted on the night.
