Tasmanian outfit Verticoli roll out the 'Hits of The Summer' with their new banger rock anthem. It's out tomorrow and we have the online premiere/first look at the track ahead of its release. It's an ode to lessons learned - and they are dropping into Hobart and Melbourne to spread the word in April!

Summer. Sun, fun, hormones, vibes. Everyone's been young and dumb and fallen in love (read: lust) in the summertime. Tassie's Verticoli want people to reminisce about old times and summer hijinks with their new single 'Hits of the Summer' and we are stoked to be premiering the track for people to get across a day early!

"‘Hits of the Summer' is a throwback to a summer nearly a decade ago. Hanging out, getting all loved up with a lady, only to realise after being punched in the face by another guy that things weren’t quite what they seemed. It’s a self-deprecating look at two young blokes with under-developed brains trying to navigate love and lust," Guitarist/Vocalist Sam Hunn explains.

The grunged-up alternative rock banger serves as a fun, anthemic track to remember the summer months by - and a warning to not let summer fun and hormones lead you into unwanted attention! The band have also hinted that this is the first taste of much more to come in 2022! This single was Written and Performed by Verticoli (Sam Hunn, Will Colvin, Jeremy Hughes), Engineered by Cameron Hull at Wick Studios, Produced by Jon Grace at Merigold Recordings (Dear Seattle, Dune Rats, Kingswood, Bakers Eddy) and Mixed and Mastered by ARIA-nominated maestro Forrester Savell.

The boys say that the track is inspired by the likes of Nirvana, Shihad, Quicksand and more, and is a "driving, grunge-infused rock track, with a hint of the nostalgic California sound of bands like the Beach Boys."

Guitarist/vocalist Sam Hunn and drummer Will Colvin have been playing and writing music together since high school. Their deep bond, combined with a dogged determination to be their own favourite band is why Verticoli has continued for so long. The successful combination of personalities and skills seem to be working for them, having supported the likes of Cog, Kingswood, British India and DZ Deathrays, opened the Field Stage at the 2014/15 Falls Festival in Marion Bay, and were selected by Triple J Unearthed to play the 2017 Party in the Paddock.

Speaking of live performances, the three-piece will launch the track at Hobart Brewing Co on April 8th (with guests Drenched & Jake Crane) and Pennys in Melbourne on April 9 (with guests Among The Restless and Arabella and The Heist!
