"So many hotspots, so little time."

More Between You & Me More Between You & Me

Brisbane’s iconic Fortitude Valley precinct means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and in an effort to pin down what makes it so special, we asked some of the artists playing this year’s Mountain Goat Valley Crawl what their favourite thing about the area is.

Blood Bank

Hanging with mates and having a boozy boogie to top tier groove-tunes!

Venice On Fire

The Valley is Queensland's contemporary cultural hub, where the world's best musicians come to play. We love its vibrancy, flavours and amazing mix of people.

INIGO

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

Gig venues, that you can hop from safe haven to safe haven. That, and Vietnamese treats.

Vladik

Live music!

Tiny Castle

The rich history and culture. You can feel safe and at home in The Valley being whoever you are and however diverse.

Sunscreen

The togetherness.

Electric Zebra

The community, it's a hub both for musicians and music fans, you can go and see a great show any night of the week.

Sometime Sonny

The live music venues... would be lost without them!

Flowermouth

The amount of bars within close proximity and the booze that they sell at them.

Jack Spider

The intermingling of vomit and cologne. D-lish.

FELIVAND

Always there for you.

Nightwoods

Whenever you head out into The Valley, you are bound to bump in to a mate. There's a sense of community, especially amongst bands and artists. You can play a show, run to another venue to catch a friends band, then to another venue for another mates band, then all meet up at Ric's.

San Mei

The amount of awesome music venues to play, but mostly the dumplings.

Between You & Me

Music venues.

STUMPS

The live music culture.

LÂLKA

The close proximity of awesome music venues.

Jbox

It's always been easy to find friends across The Valley since every venue is so close. You can go to one place for a show and only have to walk down the mall to meet up with others later on. Also the city-glider stop on Ann St, always reliable when going home after a night out!

Selfish Sons

The Valley is one of the most important variables that keeps the arts and entertainment sector alive in Brisbane for hometown artists as well as nationally and internationally touring artists, giving it the pulse, colour and livelihood this sector deserves.

Requin

It's a space in Brisbane that is crucial in providing a platform for Australian artists and live music venue owners.

MINOR PREMIERS

Cash Converters.

friend & me

The greatest thing to possibly experience in Fortitude Valley is relaxing with wonderful friends on the balcony at The Foundry, watching the valley lights flood the sky and thinking to yourself "this is truly living", as the Elephant cover band belts Sweet Child O' Mine at an almost unfathomable volume, tearing the fabric of space and time, leaving conversations mute and eardrums burst. True ecstasy.

Bayview Terrace

There are countless hotspots to go and see killer live acts all the time. So many hotspots, so little time.

Cry Club

I love that it feels like a genuine musical playground, like you’re only a venue away from discovering your next favourite artist - Heather.

ASCOT STABBER

It's not Ascot.

Bad Sext

That time I caught a Dratini in Brunswick mall ϞϞ(๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑)∩

CNT EVN

Tatsu Ramen, Blute's Bar, Phase 4 Records, Phoebe Paradise, anywhere that stocks enough Tomato Juice to not be turned away for a Bloody Mary (annoying).

Being Jane Lane

Live music!

WARCRIES

We met Justin Hodges from the Broncos ordering a kebab one time. Good guy.

Perve Endings

Good venues, grand bands, great vibes!

Oh Boy

Hidden local venues with wild crowds supporting great music.

The Bonnie Doons

How close all the live venues are. We'll play a gig, cross the road and catch a mates gig within minutes. Not many cities can boast about that.

Wildheart

Live music.

Mantashade

Our favourite thing about The Valley is the hidden pockets of cultural brilliance nestled within the hustle and bustle.

Pool Shop

My favourite thing about The Valley is the many great venues, highlighting Black Bear Lodge.

Royal And The Southern Echo

That I'm still allowed to go there sometimes.

Sports Bra

I've never been - I'm excited to check it out.

The Jensens

5 Dogs Vegan, baby.

Bloom Parade

Lucky Egg!

Georgie Neilsen and The Growing Pains

The sense of community amongst the music scene in The Valley.

Keeskea

The closeness and variety of venues for local, interstate and national acts to perform in!

The Ancient Bloods

The Valley is a great place for everyone, day and night. There is always an experience to be had and a memory to create when you go into The Valley.
