"A great soundtrack to a midlife crisis."

Punk rock and skating go hand-in-hand, and to celebrate the debut of Perth boutique festival Hot Freaks, local legends Leeches! have curated a quintessential skate punk playlist.

Get pumped for the Aug 27 Soggybones event (featuring Leeches!, Grenadiers, Pat Chow and more) by listening to some of the genre’s best.

7 Seconds – Young ‘Till I Die

The title says it all. Also a great soundtrack to a midlife crisis.

The Stupids – You'll Never Win

Lots of songs about food and skateboarding played at high speed with hooks. They even skated on the back of their record so you knew they were cool.

Suicidal Tendencies – Possessed to Skate

Okay it's cheesy, but if you skated in the ‘80s and ‘90s there's a fair chance you cruised to the local milk bar to pick up bread for your mum singing this as you bombed a slight gradient.

Sickoids – Hope Subsides

Modern day anthem.

Pennywise – Same Old Story

The ‘90s, key chains, bleached spiked hair. The video has skating so it qualifies.

Intense Degree – Skate-Bored

Fast blast beats. SKATE-BORED! SKATE-BORED!  SKATE-BORED!

BL'AST! – Surf and Destroy

A nice little angsty number to get you moving.

fIREHOSE – Brave Captain

Maybe not the punkest song ever written but it was by ex-Minutmen dudes and it was also the song for infamous pro skater Natas Kaupas's section in Streets On Fire.

Circle Jerks – Wild in the Streets

We pretty much try and make every LEECHES! song as good as this. Also featured on the seminal skateboard Hollywood film Thrashin’ starring Josh Brolin and Hook.

Slayer – Raining Blood

The intro will get you amped any for any situation.
