Leaps & Bounds: Cash Savage

When did you start making music and why? I’ve never not made music. There are photos of me as a tiny kid, busking out the front of my house.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Country, blues, blues, country.

What other events/gigs are you looking forward to at Leaps & Bounds? Unfortunately we’re leaving for Europe on Tuesday 7 Jul so we can’t catch much. Graveyard Train at Melba Spiegeltent is going to be sick.

What do you think is the best thing about a festival like Leaps & Bounds? The city getting behind live music is the greatest thing, and making a big deal about something we all take for granted. It’s not a particularly unusual amount of gigs; it’s just that we’re making a point of noticing them.

What are your favourite places to hang out in the City of Yarra and why? I love the Old Bar: unicorns, live music, football, Old Bar. And I get my coffee every morning from Stagger Lee’s on Brunswick St. Good people.

Why should people come and see your band at Leaps & Bounds? It’s our last gig in Melbourne for three months, before we go to Europe to play a bunch of festivals.

When and where for your Leaps & Bounds gig? Old Bar, Friday 3 Jul with The Sugarcanes and Georgia Maq.
