Tell us your band's origin story: We have been playing together since the end of high school (2003) doing our own music. The idea of Furnace came about in 2010 when we thought we could make extra cash playing covers but we had to share bills with DJs and popular indie bands. We felt mash-ups of covers could work well and it got a much bigger reaction than we ever expected.

Sum up your show in four words: Dancing, singing, party, crazy.

Which acts' music do you enjoy playing the most? I personally (but I think I speak for everyone) love doing Queen because we love their music so much. The crowds always love Queen so you can't lose with it.

Why is incorporating a visual element important to your show? There is so much competition out there now with DJs being readily available. The top ones have such great visual elements because they're stuck behind the decks and it really takes their performances to the next level, so we want our show to be the best it can be in all elements including the visual aspect.

Why should people come on down to your gig? It's a real workout and we pack two hours in with arguably the greatest songs of all time so you're bound to find yourself letting loose and escaping from your problems at some stage of the show.

When and where is your next show? Metro Theatre, 27 Nov.
