More The Iron Eye More The Iron Eye

Ascendant Brisbane hard-rock trio The Iron Eye grabbed our attention back in August with their massively hooky single Just Started, and now we're absolutely stoked to be able to share with you Foreign Bodies, the wider EP from which that excellent track was taken.

Set for release this Friday, 18 November, Foreign Bodies boasts five serves of fist-pumping, lip-snarling dirty rawk, all infused with heavy grooves and meaty, meaty riffs. Vocalist/guitarist Nick Lythall does a stellar job of delivering dynamic, wide-ranging vocals atop his thunderous strums, while bassist Dave Webster and drummer Antonio Mancini provide more than capable backing and rhythmic instrumentation to create a thoroughly cohesive and engaging atmosphere throughout the EP's run time.

This is all aided by the professional — without being polished so hard as to be featureless — sound work provided by the both-star team-up of producer Tom Larkin (Shihad) and mix-master Samuel K (The Getaway Plan, Gatherer), lifting The Iron Eye's EP to a cut above the pack, whether in the throes of its attitudinal title track or plodding, gargantuan closer, Silence

The band have capitalised on their obviously deep rapport to deliver this release, and that evident rapport — not to mention their complementary talents — has steered them to support slots for a diversity of impressive peers, including Shihad, King Of The North, Grenadiers, Sydonia, Jerrico, Guards Of May, Rick Dangerous & The Silky Bantams, Greenthief and several others.

If you're yet to catch them in the flesh to properly understand how they've accrued such an impressive CV in a relatively short time, The Iron Eye will be launching their EP at Crowbar next Thursday, 24 November, with support from their stalwart mates in Street PiecesModern Strangers and Elko Fields. For further details, see theGuide.

A few days later, on Sunday 27 November, The Iron Eye will be at the New Globe Theatre, in Fortitude Valley, shooting the video for the EP's opening cut, Culpa. If you'd like to be a part of it — and, if you saw the mayhemic clip for Just Started, why wouldn't you? — check the details at the event page.
