"I think they should react to everything that’s already happened"

More Man Vs Synth More Man Vs Synth

Melbourne outfit Man Vs Synth blend frenetic drums, lush guitars and synths, pounding baselines and evocative vocals with their new self-titled LP.

"The main idea for the Man Vs Synth EP is to blend these two disparate sounds of acoustic and analogue instruments,” frontman Mathew Farry told The Music.

“The writing process took ages and began in late 2017, really. Different songs required different processes but, as a general rule, I love to start with some harmony that really intrigues me.

“[Single] Perfect Picture actually started as a sequence on the Moog and everything else followed eventually, Fall Apart began as a guitar riff. Once the initial idea is down I’d record it as quickly as possible and then start messing around with the synths to see what they can add. Drums are always last, I think they should react to everything that’s already happened.”

Man Vs Synth is official out this Friday, but you can stream it now via The Music.
