Naarm-based artist D’Arcy Spiller has unveiled an absolutely stunning video for her latest single, Crave.

The cinematic production, premiering today via The Music, was directed by Ollie Ritchie and leans heavily into the spiritual nature of the song’s sounds.

It was shot on location in swampland and surrounding caves in Irrawong Reserve and features Spiller manifesting and morphing into both physical and metaphysical aspects of her inner self, as she struggles with alternate versions of who she is, and who she is becoming.

On the song itself, which is a bold follow-up to 2021 EP Disarray, Spiller noted: “On this project, I just want people to experience my world, which is not even necessarily the spiritual world. It’s just about allowing yourself to open up your mind and not be afraid of the weirder shit.”

Sonically, Crave is influenced by the likes of The Kills and Jack White, which the singer attributes to a nomadic upbringing.

“Everything changed when I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota at age 15 and started listening to more rock and blues,” she said.
