Bloods Tour Diary: Part Three

2 September 2013 | 3:08 pm | Bloods

Melbourne blows the Bloods minds and leaves them brutally hungover in the process.

Friday 30 August

8am

It's the day of our Melbourne Launch at The Workers Club, and Sweetie is up nice and early for a lovely chat on-air with the good folk at PBS - by all accounts it went swell. At around the same time, MC and Dirk are heading to the airport to put their fate in the hands of Jetstar, where they bump into the boys from Adults, who are doing some shows at The Gasometer - small world!

After a quick McDonalds breakfast, MC and Dirk board the plane and before we know it we're on Victorian soil ready for our first duty for the day - an interview and photoshoot at the Footscray Milking Station. This one was a bit different as we were tasked with writing/drawing our answers on paper, our handwriting sucked but MC's drawings were killer! After a very pleasant chat/photo session, we grab a bite and hit the road.

Just doodling...

2:30pm

Dirk's sister lives in Melbourne, so we popped over to her house in Brunswick for a bit of chill time before heading over to the venue. It's smiles all round as the Jonker siblings are reunited!

We are family!

5pm

After some lols and a lie down, we head over to The Workers Club. After a couple more interviews at the venue and a bit of a soundcheck, we head to an incredible Greek restaurant nearby for a dinner with our label, Shock Records! It was a serious banquet they put on for us, amazing breads and dips, haloumi, red wine, chats, fun times etc. We go hard and stuff ourselves silly, only to realise we need to hotfoot it over to the venue!

Prior to the gig and Tequilla mess.

9pm

After a rad opening set by Richie1250 & The Brides Of Christ, our hyper band crush Major Leagues hit the stage - it was swoons all round as they smashed out an amazing set, highlights being the Daria theme song and latest single Endless Drain. It was our turn next and we were absolutely blown away/stunned by the turn out, and it was crazy/awesome to see people singing along to the tunes and generally being rad and awesome!

12am-4am

We leave the stage on a mega high and decide we'd better keep the party going, so we head over to Old Bar in Fitzroy with our posse in tow, and it's Tecate and Tequila all round! At this point things start to get a bit fuzzy - which has to be a good thing right?!

Shit just got real.

The only downside to all of this is the brutal level of hangover achieved - here's a pic of Sweetie to demonstrate!

Sucks to be Sweetie!

Anyways, we've been having a ball so far, and Melbourne definitely didn't disappoint - in fact, it totally blew our minds!! Next stop is Brisbane/Gold Coast, it's bound to get loose/awesome, can't wait!

Oh, here's a bonus pic of some tiny little horses dressed as unicorns - enjoy!

Pony unicorns - Pony-corns?
