Give us a short description of your music: Angular, nostalgic guitar music built on a bedrock of lyrical absurdism, narrated by a fidgety idiot.

Which acts are on your must-see list at BIGSOUND? Black Rock Band, The Buoys, Pinch Points, Mojo Juju, Party Dozen, Stevan, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Boy Azooga, Future Haunts and more.

Why should people come and see you among the many amazing bands at BIGSOUND? I think you'll really regret not seeing us.

What music trends do you think are dominating right now, and do you have any predictions for the coming year? It's hard to tell. I'm always a bit late to new trends, but there does seem to be a resurgence of melodic guitar bands/artists, and straight-up punk-rock. Love that. My prediction is Brisbane will win the AFL Grand Final and Lachie Neale will win the Brownlow.

In your career to date, what have been the key watershed moments? Writing and recording our soon-to-be-released album has been a big turning point for us after two years of demoing. It was tough at times, but there's finally some light appearing through the cracks and we can't wait for everyone to hear the finished product.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? It's always nice hearing what experienced heads have to say about the minutiae of the industry, and we love learning how different types of labels are run. Maybe something to do with that.

What do you identify as the most pressing issue impacting the Australian music industry at present? Not enough cowbell. Need more cowbell.

What is the best bit of advice you've been given to prepare for your time at BIGSOUND? My mum always tells me not to disgrace the family. Might try that for once.

When and where is your BIGSOUND showcase? 3 Sep, The Zoo, 11.20pm.
