Album title? Mother Mourned

Where did the title of your new album come from? The concept album idea came about when Ben and I started collaborating and discovered that we both grew up as carers of seriously ill mothers. We've woven our different experiences together into an emotional story.

How many releases do you have now? We've released two singles from the album - Embrace and Mother Daughter. We also produced an animation clip for Embrace.

How long did it take to write/record? Probably too long! We've been writing and planning for a long time, but we gained momentum in 2014 when we started recording at The Grove Studios a year after my mother passed away.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? We thought about our mothers and childhoods during the recording process. It brought back a lot of raw emotion for me and deep-seated emotions for Ben. This is reflected in the album.

What's your favourite song on it? Mine is Mother Daughter - I wrote it shortly before my mother passed away.

Will you do anything differently next time? Making the album was a great experience and we want to continue to collaborate and try new things with the next release.

When and where is your launch/next gig? We will perform songs from the album, along with some of our other songs, at UBERfest festival Sydney, The Bridge Hotel, 2 Apr, 4.30pm.
